Lawrence I. Petrie

Born on December 24, 1942 in Medina, NY he was the son of the late George and Geraldine (Harris) Petrie.

Larry graduated in 1961 from Lyndonville High School. On June 1st. 1963 he married the former Harriet Livingston. He was employed with Kodak as site manager, retiring in 1991. He was a Teacher’s Assistant for Attorney Edward J. Grabowski in the BOCES Criminal Justice Program. Larry was a dedicated member of the Ridgeway Vol. Fire Dept., serving as Captain of the Fire Police, Assistant Fire Chief and Board of Directors. He was currently the Orleans Co. Fire Police Association President. He was a member of the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, where he once served as Deacon. He was a avid hunter and enjoyed camping in Pennsylvania.

Larry is survived by his wife, Harriet, three children, Russell and Cheryl Petrie, both of Medina and Bruce Petrie of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Ashley Petrie, Erika (Sr.Amn David ) Seeloff, Sr. Amn Joseph (Michelle) Petrie and Trevor Hufford, three great-grandchildren, Rachael, Jade and David, two siblings, Jeanette (Gary) Lindke of Medina and Ronald (Denise) Petrie of Gasport, a aunt, Beatrice Petrie of Lyndonville, Also, several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Stephen P. Devine officiating. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
