Alfred Lee Franklin Jr, age 83, passed away on January 2, 2022 in Mabank, Texas. He was born on October 10, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to his loving parents, Alfred Lee Franklin Sr. and Tressie Thompson-Franklin. He married the love of his life, Cleo Andrea Green on October 19, 1957, and together they had four daughters. Alfred had a strong work ethic, at times working two full-time jobs to provide for his family, allowing his wife to stay home and care for their daughters. His career was in sheet metal fabrication, where he worked until his retirement. He then became a cross guard for Mabank Intermediate, earning him Employee of the Year. It was during this time that he earned respect within the community for keeping our children safe.
In his spare time, Alfred loved grilling and making mouthwatering BBQ, playing dominoes and cards. Rummy and Poker were his favorites. Alfred enjoyed taking road trips and traveling to see new places and experience new adventures. He enjoyed the horse races and playing Bingo. He loved watching old Westerns and was a huge John Wayne fan. Alfred also liked to reminisce about his time in the US Navy, where he served his country honorably in his younger years. His fitness routine carried on into his later years of life. Alfred was still working out and lifting weights until he was 80 years old.
Alfred is survived by his daughters; Debbie Morgan and husband Gary of Mabank, Texas; Pamela Franklin and fiancé Darvin Grade of Terrell, Texas; Catherine Moore of Mabank, Texas; Sherri Krone and husband Richard of Seagoville, Texas; and brother-in-law Rusty Dilbeck of Blackjack, Texas.
Grandchildren; Jayson Morgan and wife Jennifer, Deric Morgan, Andrea Lozano and husband Brandon, Randall Thomas and wife Casey, Summer Williams and husband Tee, Shane Thomas and wife Alyssa, Lee Moore and wife Vicki, Joseph Moore and wife Rebecca, Christopher Krone, Todd Krone, Amanda Collier and husband Tim; as well as 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Alfred also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Alfred is preceded in death by his wife Andrea Franklin, parents Alfred and Tressie Franklin, brothers, Jimmy, Louis, and Mike Franklin, son-in-law, Wayne Moore; and great-grandchild, Willow Moore.
