Alva was born on May 8, 1924 in Henderson County to parents Arvel Lester Weaver and Bertha M. Young Weaver and entered into eternal rest on May 27, 2015 at the age of 91. Alva was known as “Lucy” to many of her family and friends. She was strong in her faith and doted on her family and friends. Alva enjoyed cooking, quilting, doing crossword puzzles and collecting what-knots. She loved being outside; gardening and fishing. Alva enjoyed listening to music and loved playing a game of Wahoo. She helped take care of the apartments that she lived in. Alva was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Eustace. She served as a minister of God by her actions. Alva was a very loving, caring and sweet lady who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Alva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James Cook and two brothers; Bill and Arnold.
She is survived by her sons; Glen Williams and wife Beulah of Kemp, Alvin Ray Cook and wife Janet of Garland and Donny Curtis and wife Sheila of Eustace, sister Irma Smith of Dallas, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends.
