Scottie Anderson was born on June 3, 1942 in Gossett Community, Texas to parents James Allen and Louisia Owen (Neal) Anderson and entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2018 at the age of 76. Scottie graduated from Mabank High School in 1961, where he served as class President, class favorite and class clown. He was also a member of FFA for one year and received numerous ribbons for athletics. Scottie was a story teller and would get up and entertain his classmates. He always smiled and laughed a lot. Scottie was very mischievous and loved scaring people. He loved hunting in his younger years and enjoyed being outside working in his garden and fishing. Scottie loved spending time with his family the most. He was a devoted husband, awesome father and “Pop” and a true friend to many. Scottie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scottie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Polly Lou Anderson and Florence Etta Norton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Barbara Anderson of Kemp, son Thomas Anderson of Bradenton, FL, daughter Carla Rogers and husband Jefferson of Denton, TX, son Spencer Anderson and wife April of Eustace, TX, son Bricky Anderson of Kemp, TX, daughter Rebecca Anderson of Wills Point, TX, grandchildren; Megan Harrill and husband Alex, Nathan Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Shannon Anderson and Chelsie Cobbs, eight beautiful great-grandchildren, brother Thomas Anderson and wife Gloria of Mabank, TX, sister Joyce Wooten of Bradenton, FL, brother from another mother Fritz Cravey and wife Becky, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
