

Born on August 8, 1952, in Marshall, Texas, Betty was a daughter of the late James Hamilton Burton and the late Martha Faye McCormick Burton.
Betty was a woman full of life, spunk, and determination who never met a stranger. Throughout her life, she enjoyed a successful career as an accountant and played an integral role in helping operate several family businesses, including a real estate title company, frame shop, and pawn shop. Betty had a passion for shopping, cooking, and creating cherished family cookbooks filled with treasured recipes. She also had a special talent for designing floral arrangements and enjoyed spending time with her beloved Schnauzers. Known for her independent spirit and strong personality, Betty approached life with energy and determination.
Betty is survived by her sister, Anne Evans; her daughter, Tonya Kay Pierce; and her son, Mikel Christopher Kirkpatrick. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Brittney Kerr, Lacie Vazquez, Destinee Schoeneberg, and Madeliene Kirkpatrick; her grandson, Zane Kirkpatrick; and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her throughout her life.
A memorial service for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
