Billie Orvadeen King Rogers widow of Phil Waylan Rogers was born November 2, 1944 at Athens TX to Orven and Elmadeen King and passed March 16, 2020 at home surrounded by family. Billie was adored by many community members beyond her immediate family and enjoyed playing 42 dominoes. She is a graduate of Malakoff High School class of 1963, Henderson County Junior College where she was captain of the Cardettes finishing 1965 and East Texas State University of Commerce (now known as Texas A&M University – Commerce) in 1973 with a Bachelors in Education. Her career spanned several decades in education retiring as a counselor.

She is survived by her children; Bobby and Magda Rogers, Phil and Debbie Rogers, siblings; Gayle Webb (sister), Fred King, Brady King, Terry King (brothers), grandchildren; Haleigh Rogers, Clay Rogers, Cole Rogers and Cassie Rogers. She has 11 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.

I met Billie and Phil through the Mabank Cedar Creek Lions Club. Both were outstanding people and served their community with love and willingness to help everyone. Billie was a sweet and beautiful soul. So sorry to the family for your tremendous lost. I will always remember Billie and Phil as faithful and giving. I know she will be happy to be reunited with Phil.

So sorry to read of Billie’s passing. Don and I were friend with Phil and Billie through Lions, school etc. Have many good memories of them and will always smile with those thoughts
