Billie Faye York, age 95, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2024. She was born June 10, 1929, in Troy, Texas, to Adrian and Eva Lena Smith. Billie graduated from Troy High School in 1946. She married the love of her life, Howard York, Sr., on May 25, 1946. This would be the beginning of a 78 year marriage. They had three children: Sandra Speight of Rockwall, Texas; Howard York, Jr., of Mesquite, Texas; and Jacky York (deceased).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Eva Lena Smith, her brother, A.R. Smith, her sister, Montez Pierce, and her son Jacky Lynn York.
She is survived by her husband, Howard York, Sr. She is also survived by her daughter, Sandra Speight and husband, Gene; her son Howard York, Jr. and his wife, Cindy; and her daughter-in-law, Linda York. She is also survived by her grandchildren Valerie Elliott, Nathan York, Joshua Speight, and Natalie Martin. Also surviving her are her great grandchildren Talin, Macie, and Paige Elliott, Ainsley and Evelyn Speight, and Rhett and Reese Martin.
