Bonnie Eugenia Harris

Celebration of life visitation services for Bonnie Eugenia Harris, 97, of Gun Barrel City, Texas will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. Bonnie passed from this life March 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18, 1926, in Terrell, Texas to Oscar Millard and Mary Alice (Chandler) Tarno. She grew up in the small community of Blackjack with her ten fellow siblings. Bonnie always enjoyed family get togethers and loved to cook or bake before sitting down to play dominoes or beat everyone at cards. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mabank and sang in the choir for many years. Bonnie met her other half in Jeff Harris who she married in 1984 and was blessed with many years together. Throughout life, Bonnie was very loving and always proved that family came first.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jeff Harris; son, Ernest Davis; daughter, Carolyn Crow; parents, Millard and Mary Alice Tarno; brothers: Clifford Tarno, Byron Tarno, Winiford Tarno, Melvin Tarno, Eulis Tarno, Wayne Tarno, Malcomb Tarno; and sister, Alene Rish.

She is survived by her grandson, Shane; granddaughter, Margaret; brother, Paul Tarno; sister, Edna McRee; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
