Obituary of Carl Michael Hicks
On Sunday August 31, 2022, Carl Michael Hicks aka Mike Hicks, loving father of two children passed away at the age of 81. Mike was born October 20, 1940, in Odessa Texas to Dave and Wyvon Hicks. On January 25th of 1961 he married Phyllis Puckett and they raised two daughters, Johanna Renee Stuckey, and Tonya Davon Hicks-Burke. Mike founded and ran Motors and Mores Inc from 2002 until 2017. Located on the main street in Midlothian, he made many friends and served the transportation needs of his clients. Mike had a passion for fishing and spent many hours at his second home on Cedar Creek Lake. He also enjoyed people and founded the Possum Club in his Cedar Creek garage turned man-cave. His neighbors loved to “hang out” together at the PC (Possum Club) headquarters. Mike also loved to help people. When his daughters entered high school, he became the Rodeo Dad to many of the students in the Texas High Riders Rodeo Club. His civic contribution was a highlight in his Cedar Creek community as he helped put on a charity fish fry and night of entertainment that has become an annual event for the last 20 years. He was known for his friendly manner, quirky sense of humor and a compassionate, generous spirit. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis. He is survived by his daughters, Renee Stucky and Tonya Hicks, his brother David Hicks, his grandson Justine Stuckey, and beloved partner Carol Donelson. A memorial service will be held on Friday August 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Eubanks Cedar Creek Funeral Home; located at 601 S. 3rd St. in Mabank Texas.
