IN THE CARE OF
Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Charles Edward Haughee, age 89, of Springhill, FL passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Charles was born February 8, 1933, to parents John Alexander Haughee & Emma Alice Henry, in Gary, IN. He married the love of his life, Kaye, on January 1, 1955, in Gary, IN. Charles was a caring and doting husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. He proudly served his country as a Staff-Sergeant, in the United States Air Force for 9 years, 4 months, and 9 days. Christian by faith, Charles was a minister of Jesus Christ and attended the Church of God, a Worldwide Association. Charles participated in the spreading of the gospel by contributing to the One Accord Church newsletter and the Life, Hope & Truth website. Charles also maintained an extensive, worldwide, email list for passing on prayer requests. Charles enjoyed sports including basketball, softball, and golf, and fostered high ethical standards of play through coaching and officiating. His words of wisdom will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his lifetime.
Charles enjoyed the simple pleasures of tasty foods, good conversation, melodious music, restful sleep, sitting on the porch while watching birds fly and listening to their songs, watching the antics of squirrels, seeing different cloud formations, lying in bed recognizing his wife’s sleeping patterns, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn and grow, and rejoicing in the success of others.
When asked about his happiest times in life, Charles responded with: High School graduation, his first real date, beginning a new job, meeting Kaye, their long marriage, the birth, growth, and marriages of his children, and meeting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Then Charles added “But we have another event that stands out for us and that is when we learned that the Bible story is true and factual and there is a plan unfolding that will allow everyone to share in that knowledge”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John A. Haughee and Emma A. Henry; brothers, John Haughee and Kenneth Haughee; and granddaughter, Jennifer Mason.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Evelyn Kaye Robertson Haughee of Springhill, FL; daughters Joan Mason and son-in-law, Thomas of Mabank, TX. Elizabeth Garrett and son-in-law, Al of Irving, TX; sons: Gordon Haughee of Dallas, TX, Richard Haughee and daughter-in-law, Sharon of Cypress, TX; grandchildren Douglas Mason, Erin Treybig, Mitchell Haughee, Derek Self, Melissa McConnell, Christopher Adair, Holly Trest, and Kristin Leitzsey; along with 18 great-grandchildren.

The Haughee family would like to request that in lieu of flowers a donation is sent in Charles’ name to Foundation Outreach Internationals' Scholarship Fund.
Although not his profession, Charles was a teacher at heart and articles he authored may be found on LifeHopeandtruth.com.
In many countries education is the only means of breaking out of poverty. Even a good education is no guarantee of getting a good job; but without an education, poverty is assured. Africa is the second largest and second most populous continent on earth. With high unemployment rates and significant poverty levels, many have few means to improve the basic standards of life. Foundation Outreach International Board members have over a decade of experience with selecting candidates and providing scholarships for needy students in Africa. Foundation Outreach International is excited to provide hard working students with the opportunity to create a brighter tomorrow for themselves and those around them.
