Charles was born on July 8, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to parents Maxie D. and Betty (Haney) McNew and entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2018 at the age of 54. Charles graduated from Mabank High School in 1981 and attended Stephen F. Austin for two years. He received his Real Estate License from A & M Commerce. Charles married Mistie Johnson in Tyler, Texas on December 28, 2005. He worked for Coldwell Banker and did landscaping with Tracy Groom. Charles was a funny and outgoing person. He was also ornery and would say whatever was on his mind. Charles loved to cook, especially BBQ, and would go for a ride any day of the week. He loved working in his yard and going camping, fishing and hunting. Charles was a member of Athens Life Fellowship Church. He loved his church, working events and being the greeter, and keeping the church clean. Charles was an extraordinary man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents Ed and Jakie McNew, grandmother Leona Haney, grandfather Joe Haney, father-in-law Ronald Johnson and uncle Charles McNew Jr.
He is survived by his wife Mistie McNew of Mabank, daughter Kelsi McNew of Flower Mound, daughter Courtney Cubine of Mabank, son Dalton Cubine of Mabank, granddaughter Braylee Cubine, father and mother; Maxie and Betty of Mabank, sister Cecilia Cosper and husband Larry of Mabank, other loving family members and many more friends.
