

Cherry Layne Tapp Gage, 67 of Eustace, was born on July 28, 1948 in Mabank, TX. She went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2016 in Dallas, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Merle Tapp. She is survived in death by her husband, John R. Gage, daughter Susan Hinkle and husband Rodney Hinkle, daughter Jennifer Warner and husband Jimi Warner, grandchildren; Justyn Warner, Summer Hinkle, Jacey Warner, Clay Hinkle and Chloe Hinkle all of Eustace. She is also survived by brother Hollis Tapp and wife Lila of Mabank, sister Sheila Rowan and husband Donnie also of Mabank along with a host of nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Cherry’s first career was as a loving wife and mother, her 2nd was working at Eustace ISD for over 20 years, where she made many life-long friends. Baptist by faith, Cherry attended First Baptist Church in Eustace where she enjoyed participating in many church activities. Cherry spent her retirement years by gardening, tending to her rose bushes, feeding birds, socializing with her schoolmates, former co-workers, and girlfriends, but most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in all their activities. Cherry went by many names in her lifetime, including Mrs. Gage, Aunt Cherry, Moma, and her favorite Mema. Loved by many and missed by all that knew her.
Robert Reeve, Gary Smith, David Tapp, Mike Tapp, Justyn Warner and Clay Hinkle will serve as Pallbearers for Cherry.
