

Dan Gipe was born on September 21, 1925 in Dallas, TX and entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2015 at the age of 90. Dan was a long time Cedar Creek resident who loved lake life, motorcycles, and serving his community. He was an Engineer and mechanically adept; Dan could build or fix anything. He was instrumental in the original design of the Henderson County 911 Emergency System. Dan Gipe was a decorated WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army. Dan was a dedicated Rotarian in Henderson County and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City. Dan was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Wise Gipe Sr. and Grace Nelson Gipe, wives Mary Jane Gipe and Joyce Gipe and son Perry Lee Gross.
He is survived by his loving wife Erika Kovschak, son Greg Gross of Dallas, daughter Paula Hammon and husband Bill of Houston, step-daughter Dianne White and husband Tony of Mabank, step-son Jerry Hamilton and wife Angie of Plano, grandchildren; Darron, Bill, Matt, Taylor, Karrie, Brittany and Tony Jr; great-grandchildren; Ava, Sydney, Taylor, Lauren, Trevor, Tori, Ty, Gaige, Bailey and Jade; great-great grandchild Caliber, other loving family members and many more friends. Dan will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
