

Born on December 26, 1967, David was the son of the late Gerald Don Herriott and the late Mildred Violet Herforth Herriott.
David attended school in Glendora, California. Upon graduation David attended USC majoring in Aerospace Engineering. David enjoyed journaling and was active with his high school newspaper. David had a passion for sports, especially football. While in high school he was not able to play football, but was honored to be a contributor to the team as the team manager. David enjoyed volleyball and baseball as well. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace and while working in the field, he obtained his masters in Organizational Management. David continued to work as an Aerospace Engineer until being diagnosed with Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia in February 2025. David enjoyed bowling, music, and watching football. David was an avid reader and took great pride in his intelligence and his continued love for learning.
Along with his wife Diana, David is survived by his step-daughter Andrea Taylor; son-in-law Aaron Taylor; granddaughter Aryn Adelia Taylor; step-son James Hutchinson and wife Rachele Hutchinson; grandsons Alexander and Ayden; his sister Mary; sisters-in-law Patty and Lynn and husband, Richard; nieces Rachael and husband, John, Christy and husband, Michael, and family Kelli and husband, Mack, and family; along with chosen family Javi and partner, Bryant.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Post Oak Cemetery in Malakoff, Texas.
