David “Neal” Valenta was born on November 15, 1949 in Taylor, Texas to Marjorie Nell Sams Valenta and Raymond Louis Valenta. He passed into the loving arms of God on December 11, 2022 after a five year battle with leukemia.
Neal was the oldest of three boys and the family enjoyed many adventures throughout their lives. He graduated from Irving High School in 1968 and went to East Texas State University where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration.
Neal met LeAnn Norris in 2011 at Cedar Creek Lake where they spent their leisure time with friends. They married in 2013 and Neal gained a large and loving family and support system. This family would prove invaluable while he and LeAnn battled the illness that would eventually take his life.
Neal always had a positive attitude and his love for people made him a cherished friend. He took the time to help people, often including strangers. Actually, Neal never met a stranger. Other interests included deer hunting with good friends, yard work and keeping his car immaculate.
He was known for giving the perfect gifts and chose each one with careful thought and consideration. He took the time to listen and would choose the gift that meant a great deal to the recipient. He was kind and supportive and everyone loved seeing his smile and hearing his contagious laughter.
Neal is survived by his loving wife, LeAnne Norris Valenta, and a son, David Blake Valenta, from a previous marriage, a brother, Richard Valenta and his family and a stepson, Derick. Neal leaves a nephew, two nieces and many other family members including three close cousins, Sherry, Diane and Nancy and their families. He also leaves many friends that will cherish the memories that were created with Neal. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Ray Valenta.
A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home & Memorial Park, State Highway 198, 601 E Walnut Street, Mabank, Texas 75147.
