Edna May Barnett was born on April 29, 1933 in Mt. Airy, Maryland to parents Earl Eugene Myers and May Ruth (Smith) Myers and entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2019 at the age of 86. She graduated from high school in Blaneespurg, Maryland, was employed at a Naval Communication Station, then later by Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Richie Baptist Chapel in Maryland
Edna was a wonderful mother. She was a strong, caring, big hearted woman loved by everyone. She enjoyed quilting, loved reading mysteries and doing crossword, sudoku and word find puzzles. Edna was an amazing woman who took care of friends and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Barnett; her parents Earl Eugene Myers and May Ruth Smith Myers; her sister Betty Tippett; her brother Earl Myers, Jr. and her grandson Joseph Price.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Anderton of Cayuga, Texas; son Michael Barnett and wife Cindy of Cisco, Texas; daughter Christina Henry and husband Joseph of Gun Barrel City, Texas; daughter Darlene Warner and son Charles Barnett; grandchild Robert Fowler and wife Nikki of Dallas, Texas; grandchild Weston Bartmess of Gun Barrell City, Texas; grandchild Samuel Fowler III and wife Jamie of Henderson, Texas; grandchild David Bartmess and wife Amanda of Payne Springs, Texas; granddaughter Jennifer McClain and husband Don of Eastland, Texas; grandson Gene Fowler of Kemp, Texas; granddaughter Mary Ruth Atherton of San Antonio, Texas; nineteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Edna May Barnett will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, 10:00am at The First Baptist Church of Mabank.
