Elsie Lou Eilers of Seven Points, Texas was called to her eternal home by her Lord on May 5, 2025 in Midlothian, Texas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas with burial following at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.
Elsie was born on February 24, 1937 in Hamilton, Hamilton County, Texas to Arlos Vernon and Georgia Faye (Chumney) Thornton. She grew up in Hamilton County and on March 3, 1955 she married Vernon Alvis Eilers at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pottsville, Texas. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout the years, Elsie worked as a bookkeeper for Gibbs Auto Service and lunchroom lady at Lancaster ISD. Alvis and Elsie moved to the lake when Alvis retired to spend their time relaxing and enjoying lake life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Alvis Eilers, her parents, Arlos Vernon and Georgia Faye (Chumney) Thornton, brother, William Arthur (Bud) Thornton, sisters, Wanda Sue (Blondie) Leitko and Emma Decuir.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Haile of Carrollton, Texas, Pat Pierson and her husband Howard of Ovilla, four grandchildren, Misty Jeffcoat and husband Jamie, Nichole Haile, Krystle Page and husband Steven, Phillip Pierson and wife Tiffany; seven great grandchildren, Kylan Scott, Jaymee Jeffcoat, Brianna Haile, Hannah Page, Trey Page, Phillip Wayne Pierson, Jr. (PJ) and Jaxon Pierson.
Pallbearers will be: Phillip Pierson, Steven Page, Trey Page, Kylan Scott, Jamie Jeffcoat and Jason Seider.
