Elva Fay Gillentine, age 86, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. Elva was born April 16, 1935 in Buena Vista, TX. to parents, Elbert Henry Thedford and Annie Perilee Pogue. She was an adventurous and doting mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother; who loved spending time with family. Elva was a long time resident of Grand Saline, since 2007. Christian by faith, she attended the Wildwood Baptist Church. Elva enjoyed taking trips to Galveston and walking the Sea Wall. She loved animals and playing the piano. Elva would use her artistic skills to create crafts and sew, making clothes for those she loved. She will be truly missed by all of those she loved and met.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Henry Thedford and Annie Perilee Pogue; husband, Noah Gillentine; son, Michael Isbell Sr.; sisters, Blanche Adams and Maudie McWhorter; and brothers, Hariel and Archie Thedford.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianna McCarty and husband John of Grand Saline, TX.; daughter-in-law, Doris Isbell of Athens, TX.; grandchildren, Christie Green and husband Chad of Bastrop, TX., Stacie Goodwin of Athens, TX., Mike Isbell Jr. and wife Rebecca of Columbus, OH, Cecil Isbell of Athens, TX., Logan Anderson of Grand Prairie, TX., Spencer Wollard of Canton; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Zachary, Micheala, Jamie, Dakota, Ethan, and Christopher; great-great-grandchildren, Rocket, Audie, and D.J.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00am; officiated by Rev. Brian McWhorter and Rev. James Massey. A Visitation will occur an hour prior to service and a Graveside will follow immediately after service. The Graveside will take place at the Fitzhugh Cemetery, located in McKinney, TX.
