Born on May 8, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, Mike was a son of the late William “Bill” Greenhaw and the late Lavena Shotwell Greenhaw.
After attending high school in Mabank, Mike's passion for hard work led him to build a successful career owning and operating G & G Septic Tanks and Construction in Seven Points, Texas. For many years, he made his living installing septic systems, driveways, culverts, and hauling dirt and rock—if a job needed doing, Mike could handle it, especially from the seat of his yellow John Deere 300B. He believed in doing things right the first time and took pride in a job well done, earning the respect and trust of his community through his dedication and skill.
As the area around Richland Chambers Reservoir grew, Mike expanded his business there as well. He was a true entrepreneur—opening the first hardware store at the lake and later owning and growing Fisherman’s Point Marina. Under his leadership, the marina added a café and installed the first fuel pumps on the south side of the lake, further serving the community he loved.
When Mike wasn’t working, he could almost always be found outdoors. He found peace and joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, tending to his cows, and spending time with his dogs. If he wasn’t on a tractor or riding around in his buggy, he was likely smoking meat or getting ready for a good old-fashioned fish fry. These simple pleasures reflected the heart of who he was—grounded, patient, and deeply connected to the land.
Most mornings began the same way: with a strong cup of black coffee and an episode of The Price Is Right—a routine as steady and dependable as he was.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved Australian Shepherd, June Bug; his parents; his brother, Randy Greenhaw; and his nephew, John Timothy Greenhaw.
Mike is survived by his daughters Toni Parrie and husband, Jeremy Parrie, of Moore, OK, and Kim Greenhaw Melton of Amarillo, TX; his brother Tim Greenhaw of Seven Points, TX; his grandchildren: James Janssen (Zoe Herring) of Amarillo, TX, Brittney Janssen of Vega, TX, Kacey Dowlen (Alycia Dowlen) of Amarillo, TX, Maeghan Parrie (Hunter Johnson) of Moore, OK, and Conner Parrie of Moore, OK; and his great grandchildren: Allie, Tinsley, Preslea, & Sawyer.
