Gerald Nicholson passed away on August 29th, 2026, at the age of 81. Born December 7th, 1944, in Denver, Colorado. Gerald married the love of his life, Frances Marie Nicholson, on March 16, 1968, and together they were blessed with 56 wonderful years of marriage. Gerald was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-great-grandfather. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, serving as an M60 machine gunner with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. His time in Vietnam was an important part of his life and something that stayed with him throughout the years. He loved sharing his experiences with his family, telling them about both the good and the difficult moments, and passing those memories and stories down to the generations who loved him.
He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Eustace, where he loved the Lord and cherished his faith. Above all, Gerald loved his family and grandchildren dearly.
Gerald enjoyed the simple joys of country life and took great pride in living on his farm surrounded by his beloved animals, including cows, goats, and horses. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and working in the yard. He found happiness in the land he called home and, in the time, spent with the people and animals he loved most.
Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Marie Nicholson; son Steve Nichols , his grandson, Matt Nicholson; his parents, Marion Nelson and Gerald Byron Nicholson; and his siblings, Joey Franks, Billy Franks.
Gerald is survived by his sons, Terry Bevill and Nick Nicholson and his wife, Kelly Nicholson; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bevill; grandchildren, Shonda Airheart and her husband, Brandon Airheart, and their children, Blakelynn McCool and Bryleigh Airheart; Luke Bevill; Justin Bevill; Cody Bevill; Crissy Bevill; Brandan Bevill; Rhonda Bevill; Ciera Nicholson; Timothy Nicholson; and Layla Anderson.
He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and other relatives, all of whom will forever cherish his memory and the love he shared with them.
