

Glenda was born on September 25, 1928 in Dallas, TX to parents Jessie Lee English and Maybelle Brogdan English and entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2015 at the age of 86. Glenda was nicknamed “Cissy” by her father as she was such a girly-girl. She was known as “Grandma” and “Granny” by her grandchildren and “Oma” by her great-grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her. Glenda graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas. She worked for Bell Helicopter and then went to work at NASA for 7 years. She knew and worked with the original 7 astronauts and received post cards from these astronauts from all over the world. She also received many acclamation letters from NASA. She later became a real estate broker; where she retired after 40 years. Glenda enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting with her mother when she was young. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, traveling and going fishing with her husband. Glenda enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and going to the boats. Glenda was Baptist by faith and loved to play the piano. She was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved her. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, sister Tommie Lou Pingleton and brother Larry English. She is survived by her loving husband Jerry Green of Mabank, son Jim Murphy and wife Debbie of Malakoff, daughter Kim Hansen and husband David of Mabank, son Lance Garrett and wife Beverly of Cleburne, daughter Dana Sissung and husband Michael of Nacogdoches, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother Ronny English, sister Clara Schmitz, other loving family members and many more friends.
