Gwendolyn Sue Taff

Gwendolyn (Gwenie Sue)Taff born February 2, 1961 to William A. and Lois Crawford Taff, along with older siblings Cathy & Gene in Elk City, OK. She departed this life early Wednesday morning July 29, 2026. At age 9 the family moved from Elk City to Merkel, TX. Gwen graduated Merkel High School, became an EMT/Paramedic serving her community. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at San Angelo State while working as a telemetry technician. She remained at her position for 31 years before retiring from Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, March 2024. Gwen had many hobbies and interests. She loved animals, movies, reading and her family.

Gwen is survived by her mother, Lois, older brother Gene (Cathy Taff) of Abilene, TX; nephews & nieces: Bill (LeeAnn Wiloth) of Sutherland, OR, Suzanne (David Smith) and Terry (Brandy Wiloth)of Mabank, TX, Christine (Eric Sexton) of Abilene, TX. Grandnephews/nieces: Alex (Addison) Smith, Savannah (Jamaal)Battles, Lucien, Wyatt, Zachary & Kiley Wiloth; Great-gran nephews/nieces: Isaac, Everleigh, Emersynn & A’Miyah Battles, Penelope & DJ Smith.

Gwen is preceeded in death by her father William (Bill) Taff, sister Cathy Wiloth and grandmother Orpha Hill, aunts/uncles Aileen & Lindon Lowder, RV & Edith Crawford among other family members.
