Harold Eugene Barnett, 86, from Eustace, Texas gained his angel wings on October 19, 2021. Harold was born in Forestburg, Texas on July 26th 1935 to Lee and Lovey Barnett of Kemp. Harold served in the Marine Corps, was an ironworker, and worked in concrete construction. Harold spent most of his life in Eustace. The only things that competed with the love of his family was his love of the outdoors including hunting, roosters, fishing, horses, and piddling in his shop to name a few. H.E. was preceded in death by the love of his life Janice Marie Barnett and daughter Sher'ree Jan'ice January, sisters Bessie Penix, Bert Lugo, and Shelby Rohrbacker.
Harold is survived by daughter Eugenia Gilbreath of Eustace, son-in-law Ronnie Gilbreath of Payne Springs, grandson Clint Batchelor and wife Phedra of Galveston, granddaughter LaCosta Batchelor of Eustace, granddaughter Shea January-Scarborough and husband Michael of Bonoham, granddaughter Christy Adair and husband Andy or Fort Worth, granddaughter Stacey Gilbrath and Robert Taylor of Eustace, grandson Zackary Batchelor of Eustace, and long time friend Karen Newsome and husband David of Trinidad, and Debra Ashton of Eustace, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Johnny Barnett and wife Bobbie, sister Hazel Lane of Eustace, brother Morris Barnett of Kemp, sister Sandy Robbins and husband Carol of California, sister Jody Letchworth and husband Bob of Kemp, brother-in-law Gordon Rohbacker, and a whole hot mess of extended family. The pallbearers will be Arnulfo Guerrero, City Guerrero, Gavin Wilkerson, Shawn Gilbreath, Terry Mitchell, Roy Tony, and honorary pallbearer Michael Scarborough.
The viewing will be held at Eubanks Funeral Home in Mabank on Friday, October 29th from 6pm to 8pm. The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 30th at 10am at Eubanks Funeral Home to be followed by a graveside service at Payne Springs Cemetery.
