James Lee Bricker

Jimmy and his parents, Sue and Jeff Bricker, moved to Ohio when he was 2 years old; which is where he grew up. He was a graduate of Columbiana High School where he participated in football, weightlifting, and wrestling. Jimmy went on to become the Honor Recruit of his division during basic training at Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago, Illinois.

Jimmy shared his adult life with both his Texas and Ohio families. Although he worked in various factories and was a landman at one time, he found his true passion. He loved to build and remodel. Jimmy worked for a construction company and started his own business, “J.B. Construction.” His most recent employment included the maintenance department of a large apartment complex. He was a very hard worker.

Jimmy loved to help people in need and never missed an opportunity to do so, expecting nothing in return. He was a very kind, compassionate, and loving man who will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jeff Bricker; sister Shelly Hyde; paternal grandparents, Lee and Sally Bricker; maternal grandmother, Mama Jones; and nephew Thomas “Big” Hyde.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Sue Bricker of Mabank, Texas; brother Thomas Hyde, Jr. of Eustace, Texas; nieces Leslie Moore (Adam) of Eustace, Texas, and Rochelle Bowden of Mabank, Texas; nephew Cody Bowden, and Jimmy's girlfriend Teresa Allen of Mabank, Texas; Aunts and Uncles Michael Bricker (Peggy) of Trinidad, Texas, Patricia Morelli (Ray) of Leetonia, Ohio, Karen Culp (Dan) of Salem, Ohio, Susan Berger (Jeff), who are also his godparents, of Columbiana, Ohio, and Leslie Schreiber (Jeff) of Columbiana, Ohio; and many cousins who adored him.

Celebrations of Life to honor and remember Jimmy are being planned in both Texas and Ohio. A Memorial Service for Jimmy will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St, Columbiana, Ohio.
