Growing up, Jimmy enjoyed competing in play day rodeos, with his family and the Balch Springs Saddle Club, where he won many prizes and trophies on his horse Nubins. Jimmy always had a need for speed and later found that his true passion was racing cars. Following in his father's foot steps he began his racing career in 1985 and won rookie of the year. He went on to win multiple championships with his lucky number 17.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Matthew James Henson; father, James Earl Henson; sister, Chorissa and Tim Haydin; niece, Jamie and Dustin Davis; niece, Alyssa Haydin; great-nieces and nephews, Branson, Aisley, Hayes and Isabell.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Jo Henson. Funeral will be held on Friday, November 25,2022 at 3:00 pm at King Cemetery in Seven Points, Tx Eubanks funeral home in charge of arrangements.
