Born on January 13, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, Jim was a son of the late Edgar Earl Malone and the late Vernesse Leona Bourbon Malone.
Jim was a long-time resident of the Mabank and Gun Barrel City communities. He was proudly involved with the Volunteer Fire Department. He was even recognized by Gun Barrel City as the one who quoined the town motto, “We’ll shoot straight with you.”
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, Texas.
