

She was born on December 11, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to the late Margaret & James Campbell. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Janet attended Northwestern High School in Maryland and later enjoyed working in the restaurant industry. She spent many years as a homemaker and later returned to work after relocating to Irving, TX in 1979. She worked in the admissions office at North Lake College and later in real estate.
In June of 1978, she placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior at a small country church in West Virginia. She was baptized shortly thereafter. She absolutely loved Keith Green's worship music and followed Last Days Ministries for many years which positively impacted her family for generations.
Janet had a passion for sewing, crafting and creating, always finding joy in making things with her hands. She made the most beautiful wreaths & other decor that she frequently gifted to those she loved. Later in life she became an avid researcher of genealogy, spending hours uncovering family histories and connections. She also had a love for birds especially eagles and was fascinated with learning the various species and birdwatching.
Janet is survived by daughters, Lisa Bono (Salvatore) and Jennifer Thompson (Barry). Step-daughters, Cyndi Querrey (Larry), Coleen Reid (Barry) and beloved sister Nancy Manos. Grandchildren Ryan Abbe (Lauren), Drew Abbe (Julie), Alex Hornyak, Ben Hornyak, Grace Hornyak, Reece Bono, Mitchell Thompson, Emily Thompson & Ellie Thompson. Four grandsons, Finley, Noah, Maddox and Oliver Abbe. Many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by siblings Patricia Irons, Wallace Campbell, Margaret Goodgame, Jean Thomason, and Robert Campbell.
Her family would like to thank the staff at New Century Hospice, Corsicana and Mabank Nursing Center for their continued loving care of Janet over the years she was with them. She was a funny, bright and loving presence among residents and staff. She made a lasting impression on those who knew and cared for her.
