Jeane was born on September 5, 1930 in McCurtain, Oklahoma to parents Oscar O. and Effie Jewel (Martin) Hayles and entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2019 at the age of 88. Jeane graduated from Athens High School in 1947. She married the love of her life, Afton Willmon, on February 11, 1955, in the office of the First Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Jeane worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas and Richardson, Texas as a Logistics Secretary to the department head. After many years of service Jeane retired in 1973. She and Afton moved to the Cedar Creek Lake community. Together they begin traveling. Jeane really loved traveling cross the United States, one of their more adventurous travels was the drive they made from Kaufman, TX to Fair Banks, AK, it took them 10 days to get there. Some of their other travels were to Red River, NM, South Padre Island, TX, Hawaiian cruises, and road trips all over the United States. When they were at home Jeane and Afton were faithful members at Payne Springs United Methodist Church since 1973, except for about a year in 1999 when the attended First United Methodist in Kaufman, TX. Jeane was active on various church committees, VBS and tutoring. She was also active with the Homemakers Club, and she took computer classes at HCJC in Athens. Jeane was an animal lover, especially for her Siamese cat Lu Tang and her Tuxedo cat Syma. She had 19 wonderful years with Lu Tang and 14 with Syma. Jeane was an amazing lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jeane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Afton Willmon and numerous siblings.
She is survived by her sister Jerri Lemmon of Spring Field, MO, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Nichols and Betty Willmon of Mesquite, brother-in-law Grady E. Willmon of Mesquite, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
