Services for Jesse Jay Garrison, 43, of Mabank, will be held 10 am Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Rope Catch & Ride for Christ Cowboy Church with Mike Nelson and Steve Smeal officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Garrison passed away on August 6, 2025 at his home. He was born March 5, 1982 in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Jesse grew up in Mabank. He was a cowboy through and through. He was a slow talking, slow walking, spur wearing cowboy. Jesse always wore his boots, cowboy hat and had his Copenhagen snuff. He often said his cowboy mentor was Bobby Carter. Jesse had a big heart and was always willing to help others. His prosthetic legs never held him back.
Jesse is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mary Kay Penix, Jesse N. Penix, H.P. Pelphrey and Rena Pelphrey; and uncles: George "Buddy" Pelphrey, Carl Pelphrey and Donald Penix.
Mr. Garrison is survived by his three children: Kade Garrison, Hunter Garrison and Kylee Garrison; mother, Evelyn Gordon; father, Jesse Penix; two sisters: Tammy and Felipe Rodriguez and Tabitha Garrison; two brothers: Tommy Garrison and James Garrison; nephews: Timothy and Isaac; niece, Aimie; great-niece, Lily; great-nephew, Tate; aunt and uncle, Betty and Henry Hunter; lifelong friend, Cody Carter; and friends, Jackie Hefty and Mike Morris.
Pallbearers will be Kade Garrison, Hunter Garrison, Kylee Garrison, Jesse Penix, Isaac Rodriguez, Cody Carter and Mike Morris.
