Jim passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023 in Tyler, Texas with his family at his side. He was born on June 4, 1948 in Colorado City, Texas to J. C. Golden and Nell Phillips Golden. Jim grew up in Colorado City and later the family moved to Irving, Texas where he graduated from Irving High School. On September 17, 1983 he married his true love, Vicki and gained his precious daughter, Kristi. The couple built a beautiful life together moving to Cedar Creek Lake. Jim was a hardworking man, who spent many years looking at the world through a windshield; working for Mary Kay, Haggard, and finally owning his own truck. The last 10 years his beloved Vicki was his truck driving partner. The couple saw a lot of America during this time together and made lots of memories. Jim enjoyed westerns on TV, hunting and fishing all around Cedar Creek Lake until October 2000 when Jim earned the title of Poppa. Caidon came into his world and stole his heart. Poppa so was proud of all the accomplishments his “Rooster” made whether it was his grades or sports. Jim was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge. Jim loved his family and time with them was the best.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Golden; daughter and son in-law, Kristi and Bill Hunter; grandchildren, Caidon Livingston, Stephanie Hunter and Melody Hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Nell Golden.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Jim’s honor.
