

John was born on November 28, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to parents Frank Lee Farmer and Nora Ann Tolly and entered into eternal rest on April 1, 2017 at the age of 81. John graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and joined the military after graduation. He served in The United States Air Force; where he was Military Police, received a good conduct medal and a service longevity award. John worked at Estes Candy, Mrs. Baird’s, was the manager of Sports Drome Speedway. He was an owner/operator of a taxi transport. John was Catholic by faith. He was an amazing and loving father, who loved people and animals. John was a 6’6” “Teddy Bear”. He enjoyed horses and cars and watching both of them race. John was a very loved man who will be missed by all.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Jane Farmer and grandson little John Monroe.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Shaw and husband Billy of Mabank, son Billy Monroe and wife Lynn of Linden, son Daniel Monroe and wife Cindy of Farmersville and son Richard Monroe and wife Maria of Dallas, grandchildren; Sara, Cara, Daniel Jr., Liza, Lisa, Richard, Robert and Misty, many great-grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends.
