John Phillips Shasteen was born in Ft. Gordon, Georgia to parents John Lee and Grace Lucille (Phillips) Shasteen and entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2017 at the age of 74. John attended Rutgers for engineering, graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors Degree in Business and TCU with a Masters in Business. John served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was on the TET offensive, 1st of the 9th Air Calvary division. John loved sailing and working on cars. He was a member of the Triumph Club and Sailing Club in Houston. John was a very loving and caring man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Marissa Shasteen of Gun Barrel City, son David Shasteen and wife Alison of Heath TX, son Michael Shasteen and wife Mina of The Colony TX, son Chris O’Keefe and wife Debbie of Ashburn, VA and son Greg O’Keefe and wife Trac of Stanford VA, grandchildren; Dorian Shasteen, Alex, Colin and Nathan Shasteen, Sean O’Keefe and wife Brittney Beckett, Caitlin O’Keefe, great -grandchildren; Lilly Beckett, Aria O’Keefe and other loving family members and many more friends.
