Juanell Kinworthy Cass was born on December 29, 1935 in Chicota, TX to the late Jack Kinworthy and Bertha Annett Kinworthy. She went to be with her Lord on June 2, 2024 in Mabank, TX. She grew up in Chicota, attending Chicota Schools. She was Valedictorian of the Chicota High School Class of 1954 and was a graduate of Paris Junior College. It was while growing up in Chicota that she met the love of her life, Malcolm Cass. They were married on September 7, 1955 in Rockwall, TX.
Juanell and Malcolm moved to Dallas shortly after they married, and in 1959 they bought their first home in Grand Prairie. Juanell worked as an accountant throughout her career. She retired from R F Monolithics in 1994. After they retired, Juanell and Malcolm enjoyed traveling in their RV. They loved meeting fellow travelers, including many who became life-long friends. After a few months of full-time traveling, they moved to Enchanted Oaks at Cedar Creek Lake.
Growing up, Juanell attended Chicota Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. When she and Malcolm moved to Grand Prairie they joined 8th Street Baptist Church. At 8th Street, Juanell taught children’s Sunday School and worked with her sister, Maurice in the puppet ministry. She gave a mischievous personality to a little lamb puppet named Lamkins and enjoyed having Lamkins surprise Maurice with unrehearsed conversation - you never knew what that little lamb was going to say. Juanell is a member of First Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City. She enjoyed her Sunday School class at First Baptist, and loved working in the Awana’s.
Juanell was preceded in death by her parents Jack & Bertha Kinworthy, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd & Gussie Cass, sisters-in-law, Peggy Holmes, Fannie Bell Chambers, Dixie Gage and brothers-in-law, Gene Cass and Charles Brown.
She is survived by her husband Malcolm Cass, sister, Maurice Brown of Grand Prairie, nephew and wife, Chris & Kathy Brown of Sunnyvale, and sister-in-law Loretha Vanderburg of Paris.
Juanell was a loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt and a great friend. She loved people and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior.
Visitation will be in the chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank at 9:00 AM, Friday, June 7. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota Friday afternoon.
