Juanita Ruth Duckworth, age 84, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Juanita was born April 29, 1937; to parents, Oscar Lunceford Tarver and Thelma Berry. She was an adoring and doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; who loved gardening, sewing, and teaching. Juanita had a green thumb, she could grow anything. Christian by faith, Juanita praised her Lord at the Post Oak Bend Baptist Church, Pelton Baptist, Grays Prairie Baptist, and Lively Baptist Church. She loved sharing the Word of the Lord, as a Sunday School Teacher. Juanita enjoyed playing a good game of Softball, Dominoes, and Wahoo. Like many, Juanita loved the sweet taste of Dr. Pepper. She loved cooking, she even served lunches at the William A. Blair Elementary School; located in Dallas, TX. Juanita would cook beans before church and feed the family beans and cornbread afterwards. She will be truly missed by all those she taught and touched the heart of.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lunceford Tarver and Thelma Berry; brothers, John Tarver and James Tarver; and husband Bernice "Mickey" Duckworth.
She is survived by her sons, Mickey Reagan Duckworth and wife Debbie of Mesquite, TX.; Billy Ray Duckworth of Kemp, TX. Chuck Randall Duckworth and wife Theresa of Peeltown, TX.; daughter, Daisy Ruth Duckworth-Prewitt of Terrell, TX. sisters, Marie Pavy of Dyer, AR. and Annie Bell Bennett of Crandall, TX. Brother, Aubrey L. Tarver; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Friday, March 4, 2022 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00pm; followed by a graveside, located at Pyle Prairie Cemetery.
