With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Kay Hyde Vickers, 79, of Heath, Texas who passed away on August 4, 2025.
Judy was born in Mabank, Texas on January 4, 1946 to the late James Herman Hyde and Essie Faye Cantrell Hyde. She graduated from Mabank High School in 1964 and had a successful career working for the State of Texas Department of Public Safety. She started out as Driver’s License clerk, promoted to Narcotics Secretary, then promoted to the Major’s Administrative assistant and ended her career as the secretary for the Adjutant.
Judy had several hobbies including cooking, sewing, and gardening but the thing that brought her the most joy was spending quality time with her loved ones. She spent most of her time with her family or with her childhood friends here in Mabank. Those who knew her will greatly miss her caring heart, her contagious smile and the way she could make anything feel like an adventure.
Judy was preceded in death by husband, W.D. Vickers; brother, James Hyde, and step-son Delmar Vickers. She is survived by her daughters Tiffany and Paige, step-daughter DeLena, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services for Judy Vickers will be held at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, 601 South 3rd Street, Mabank, Texas 75147 on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mabank, Texas 75147.
