Kathleen Wymer Smith was born August 9, 1938, in Clovis, New Mexico to Ruth and Kenneth Wymer. She grew up in Protection, Kansas, and although she lived in Texas for 65 year, Kansas always held a special place in her heart.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Kenneth Wymer, brother Neil Wymer and sister, Martha Richardson. She is survived by her children, Les Rollins and wife Kay of Mabank, Elaine Stone and Husband Steve also of Mabank, granddaughters, Meghan Allman and Husband David, of Crandall, and Emily Stone of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and by two adored great grandchildren, Micah and Abigail Allman. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Smith of Abilene, and Nieces Karen Maynard and husband Rodney, Kolenna Strange and husband Ray, Tammy Wheeler and Husband Barry and Shelley Freeman and Husband Tony, and by many great nieces and nephews.
Kathleen worked for over 60 years as a secretary in the insurance and legal fields. She loved to read and was an avid and skilled quilter. There are many of her creations keeping her family and friends warm. And, as most of you know, she was also an avid fan and driver of Ford Mustangs.
Pallbearers are Les Rollins, Steve Stone, David Allman, Paul Stone, Barry Williams and Robert Ewing. Honorary Pallbearers are Micah Allman, Rodney Maynard and Kendell Stone.
