Larry Alex Dorsey Jr.

Larry Alex Dorsey Jr., age 47, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Larry was born August 18, 1974; to parents, Larry Alex Dorsey Sr. and Judy Cupp. Alex married the love of his life, Jamie on November 23, 2019, in Tyler, Texas. He was a loving and doting son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Alex was an adventurous and kind hearted man; who enjoyed fishing, singing karaoke, dancing, and having a cold one with his friends. He loved to watch Sunday Night Football, especially when the Dallas Cowboys played. Alex was a fan of racing, as well. He will be truly missed by all of those he knew and met.

Alex is preceded in death by his father, Larry Alex Dorsey Sr.; best friend, James; paternal grandparents, Fred Dorsey and Sue Patterson; uncle, Marty Dorsey; and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Opal Cupp; Fred Dorsey; Ann; Sue Patterson; Josh Patterson; Timothy; Donnie Heath; and Freida Dorsey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Dorsey of Tyler, TX.; children, Nicole Lancaster and husband Justin of Mt. View, AR., Tasha Schluterman and husband Eddie of Alma, AR., Chelsea Lee and husband Ryan, Rick McGrew of Roland, OK., Brandon Buckhanan, Bethany Alford and husband Eddie of Hackberry, LA., Christian Alford of Rose Pine, LA.; mother, Judy Elliot and husband Larry of Tool, TX.; sister, Misty Carter and fiance Daniel Dye of Kemp, TX.; brothers, Johnny Elliot and wife Angela of Midlothian, TX., Roy Elliot and wife Brandy Schultz of Gun Barrel City, TX.; sister-in-law, Heather Jackson and husband Rodger of Tyler, TX.; adopted Nana, Laura McDade and husband Scott of Rose Pine, LA.; 16 grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home Monday, May 9, 2022 at 2:00pm; officiated by Rev. Terry Heath.
