Mrs. Lena Faye Wood

Lena was born on November 7, 1929 in Van Zandt County, Texas to parents Nolan Taylor and Lula Pearl (McLemee) Gothard and entered into eternal rest on August 20, 2017 at the age of 87. Lena loved to listen to music and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and worked at several different places throughout the years; Pillows Landing, Newberries and Sacaburger in Kaufman. Lena ran the deli at Lee’s One stop. She was Baptist by faith. Lena will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, husband Troy Wood, children; Kelly Joe Gothard, Baby Fitts and Troy Farrell Wood, brothers; Pete Gothard and Charles Gothard and sisters; Martha Bond, Barbara Ann Dillion, Wyvonney Bristow and Gineva Steadman.

She is survived by her sons; William Taylor Fitts and wife Janet of Kemp and Terry Wood and partner Chuck of Dallas, daughter Connie Daniels of Kemp, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters; Mary Brummitt of Copeville and Wanda Fox and husband Rick of Brownsville, brothers; Buddy Gothard and wife Elaine of Ben Wheeler and Bobby Gothard and wife Beverly of Wylie, other loving family members and many more friends.
