Leslie “Les” Eugene Hill, 65, beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and dedicated servant of the Cedar Creek Lake community, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2025, doing the work he loved.
Born on April 29, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas, Les spent his life helping others. He served the Payne Springs Fire Department for 16 years as a firefighter and Fire Chief, and for 11 years worked as a paramedic with ETMC EMS. Les was respected for his steady presence, courage, and genuine care for the people he served.
After retiring from Fire and EMS, Les continued shaping the fire service as an instructor for the Fire School at Texas A&M Commerce, leaving a lasting impact on the next generation of firefighters. In later years, he worked in irrigation and fire sprinkler installation, known for his reliability and commitment to his customers.
Les played a meaningful role in the early roots of Hills Can Do and remained its biggest supporter. He was deeply proud of the man his son became and of the company that now carries the Hill name and work ethic forward. For the past six years, Les worked as an equipment operator and crew leader with TRWD, where he was admired for his dependability and leadership.
Above all, Les was a hands-on, lead-by-example father and a man who showed his love through action. His loyalty, compassion, and willingness to help others defined his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
