Linda Dale Cross

Celebration of life service for Linda Dale Cross, 77, of Mabank, Texas will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas with Jerry Daniels officiating. A reception for all will be held at the Payne Springs Community Center, Payne Springs, TX, at 11:30 am.

Linda passed from this life on July 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 4, 1947, to Henry Jackson and Sallie Mae (Chitty) Hammer and raised by her loving stepfather Vernon Wesley Hammer. She grew up in Payne Springs and Mabank, Texas, graduating from Mabank High School before marrying the love of her life, Johnny Walton Cross on February 17, 1966. A strong Christian prayer warrior, Linda cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren. Throughout her life she enjoyed time with her family sharing in hobbies like fishing, baking, and bingo. As a talented seamstress and creative with her husband, they made and sold handcrafts for many years.

Linda is preceded in death by her adored husband, Johnny Cross; her parents, Vernon Wesley and Sallie Mae Hammer.

She is survived by her sons: Bryan Cross and wife, Vicky; Denny Cross; John Cross and wife, Linda; daughter, Gina Brown and husband, Trace; grandchildren: Brittany, Samantha, Marcos, Emily, Gracie, Kassidy, Katelynn, Luke, Faith, Grace, Emory; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Vernell Wells; and numerous extended family and friends.
