

Linda was born on February 22, 1941 in Van Zandt County, TX to parents Winfred Odell Woolverton and Louvida Pollard and entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2016 at the age of 74. Linda was the youngest of five children and graduated from Odessa High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, Dennis Fitzgerald, and became a military wife. They would have been married 54 years before his passing in 2014. Linda was a very loving wife, mother and grandma. She never met a stranger. Linda was very involved in activities with her children and grandchildren. Linda and Dennis traveled to the Philippines and worked as liaisons for the National Parks. The Grand Tetons were their favorite National Park. Linda worked for Sears and as an Assistant Librarian for Kaufman ISD. She was an active member of Eastern Star-Canton Chapter 667 and Ladies Navy Auxiliary. Linda was a faithful member of Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church; where she once taught Sunday school and enjoyed it immensely. Linda was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Winfred Odell Woolverton, mother Louvida Pollard Batte, husband Dennis, sister Janie Dean, brother Charles Woolverton and step-sister Billie Marie.
She is survived by her son Chris Fitzgerald and wife Juliette of Phalba, daughter Paula Young and husband Neal of Hallsville, grandchildren; Tasha Scarlett and husband Brad, Krystal Borden and husband Jason, Christina Fitzgerald and fiancé J.T. Bane and James Fitzgerald, great-grandchildren; McKenna, Preslie, Allie, Drake, Maverick and soon to be Sadie, brother Dr. W.O. “Toby” Woolverton and wife Sue of Richardson, brother-in-law Bob Wright and wife Paula Ruth of Odessa, sister-in-law Phyllis Koehl of Odessa, niece Brenda Sue Christian (niece, but they were raised as sisters) of Spring, niece Debbie Brown and husband Ray of Balch Springs, a host of extended family; cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
