Linda Mae Reed

Linda Reed, 76, of Kerens, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Corsicana, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend whose kindness, grace, and love touched all who knew her.

Born on August 3, 1949, in Waltham, Massachusetts, Linda was the daughter of Gladys Lockyer and Thomas Ridley. She lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and devotion to her family. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a natural ability to make others feel loved and welcomed. Her greatest joy came from caring for the people, animals, and home she cherished.

Linda shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Daniel Reed. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family. Although Daniel preceded her in death, the bond they shared remained an enduring source of strength and a lasting legacy for their children and grandchildren.

Linda's greatest accomplishment was the family she raised and nurtured. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose wisdom, patience, and unconditional love guided her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. She found immeasurable happiness in being a grandmother and later a great-grandmother, treasuring every milestone and every moment spent with her loved ones.

Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved crocheting and knitting, creating beautiful handmade blankets, gifts, and keepsakes that her family will treasure for generations. She enjoyed cooking and took pride in preparing meals that brought family and friends together, filling her home with warmth, conversation, and cherished memories.

Linda also had a deep love for gardening and the beauty of nature. She found peace tending to her plants and watching the fruits of her hard work grow. She took great pride in caring for the farm she called home, where her faithful dogs were constant companions and where she lovingly cared for her geese, chickens, goats, and cows. Whether she was working in her garden, creating something with her hands, preparing a favorite recipe, or caring for her animals, Linda found happiness in the life she built and the home she loved.

She is survived by her children Travis Reed, Elizabeth Ellis, and Christine Boucher; her grandchildren, Cerise Reed, Denice Reed, Atlas Boucher, and Lester Boucher; her great-granddaughter, Beatrix Mae; her brother, Tom Ridley; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Daniel Reed; her parents, Thomas Ridley and Gladys Lockyer; and her beloved grandson, John Riley.

Linda's legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, compassion, hard work, and finding joy in life's simple blessings. Through every meal she prepared, every plant she nurtured, every blanket she crocheted, every stitch she knitted, every animal she cared for, and every moment she shared with loved ones, she left an enduring mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, 601 South 3rd Street, Mabank, Texas 75147. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose love and kindness will never be forgotten.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has offered prayers, comfort, and support during this difficult time. Linda will be forever loved, deeply missed, and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
