

Mabelle Lane-Ross was born on July 23, 1939 in Cherokee County, Texas and entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2017 at the age of 78. She was blessed and grateful to have had Pete and Sydny Ross as her parents. Mabelle worked for Jacksonville Police Department prior to 1985. In 1985 she went to work for Gun Barrel City Police Department. Mabelle became Chief of Police for Gun Barrel in 2004, until she retired in 2009. She was an extremely hard worker. Mabelle loved her job at Gun Barrel City Police Department and serving her community. She never met a stranger and always had a beautiful smile on her face. Mabelle loved her family and taking care of her parents made her smile. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Mabelle was an amazing lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mabelle was preceded in death by her brothers; Felix, Henry, A.C. and Sammy Jr. and sister Realy Spencer.
She is survived by her parents Sydny and Pete Ross of Gun Barrel City, special niece Brandi Lane Ross and husband Garland Anderson of Jacksonville, nieces and nephews; Tyus Lane, Felix Lane and Demetrius Lane, numerous other nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more friends.
