Margaret Antoinette Grimaldi Howard was born on June 5, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Frank Grimaldi and Bessie Wilhelm, and entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2020 in Kemp, Texas. She was known as a courageous, headstrong and brave woman. Margaret has a sharp sense of humor and would often play pranks and jokes on her loved ones. She advocated for the proper care of animals and would not tolerate any mistreatment. Margaret enjoyed going to the gym and she taught dance for many years. She could play many instruments by ear and could sing, she even made amateur hour on a radio program hosted by Ted Mack. Margaret attended Crozier high school and worked for several years at Montgomery Ward, served as a typist for an insurance company but mostly she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a confirmed Catholic and Baptist by faith, was a member of Legendary Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, and believed that God and family were the most important things in life. Margaret served as secretary for her neighborhood POA for a short time. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her and will remain in those hearts always.
Margaret is preceded in death by her grandparents Mariano and Antonina Grimaldi of Palermo, Sicily, parents Frank and Bessie Grimaldi, stepfather former Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry, and son Danny Hollis.
She is survived by husband Henry Howard of Gun Barrel City, daughter Margie Bynum and husband Jack of Gun Barrel City, daughter D’Ann Howard-Schimming of Baytown, granddaughter Kelly Crawford of Mabank, brother Gene “Ed” Curry and wife Ruth of Lewisville, sister Karen Anderson of Minnesota, sister Cathey Tresp and husband Terry of Tennessee, and many other family members and life long friends.
Margaret spent the last 2 years at the Kemp Care Center after suffering a stroke and the family would like to thank all those that took care of her there.
