Marlene Dover was born March 10, 1934 in Mabank, Texas and died on November 3, 2015 at the Waterton Plaza Nursing Facility in Tyler, Texas. Marlene was a 1951 graduate of Mabank High School and was salutatorian of her class. During high school, she participated in the FHA and Glee Club for two years and was a cheerleader and Vice President of her class in 1949. She played the piano at the First United Methodist Church in Mabank for several years and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She was a wonderful mother and will be sorely missed by her children.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Lewis (Shorty) Dover, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Kirby T. Hardy Sr. of Mabank.
She is survived by her son, David Dover of Canton, her daughter, Patricia Dover Dechow and son-in-law, Robert Dechow of Houston, her brother Kirby T. Hardy, Jr. and wife Janice of Eustace, nephews Jeffrey C. Hardy and family of Boulder, CO, Jeremy K. Hardy and family of Bridgeport, TX, and Stephen D. Hardy and family of Midland, TX, other loving family members and many more friends.
