Martin was born on November 8, 1944 in Atlanta, Texas to parents Martin Luther Kennedy, Sr. and Wilma (Thaxton) Kennedy and entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2020 at the age of 75. Martin loved bowling with his wife Roberta, and was a hot rod enthusiast who loved muscle cars, motorcycles (which he used to race at Enduros), boats and waterskiing. He was a very good man who taught his children to boat, water ski, and ride motorcycles, in addition to self-discipline and a good work ethic. Martin and Roberta were married for 58 years. He had known Roberta since the 3rd grade. They were King and Queen of Mardi Gras his Junior year in high school and married on June 21, 1962 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Dallas, Texas. He was a Catholic, and member at St. Jude for 15 years. Martin was employed in the paper industry for 38 years at Inland Container.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Wilma Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Kennedy of Gun Barrel City, Texas; son Brian Kennedy and wife Cynthia of Denton, Texas; son Sean Kennedy and wife Robin of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; son Steven Kennedy and wife Suphalak of Caney City, Texas; granddaughter Georgia Kennedy; grandson Dakota Kennedy; granddaughter Jasmine Kennedy; and son Martin Kennedy.
