Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Sutton, with whom she shared 57 and a half years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and enduring partnership. Mary’s greatest joy in life was sharing each day with John.
Longtime residents of Seven Points, John and Mary found joy in the simple things—quiet mornings, the company of their beloved cats, searching flea markets for the perfect items to keep or swap, and the warmth of their cherished community. They were devoted members of the First Presbyterian Church for many decades, where their faith, kindness, and steady presence touched countless lives.
Though John’s passing left a deep space in her heart, Mary found the courage to open her life to new connections. She found fresh happiness in her later years by welcoming new friendships—kindred spirits she met through church and everyday life. Her ability to embrace others with kindness and grace enriched both her life and the lives of those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her family and friends, all of whom were enriched by her compassion, wisdom, and quiet strength. Her life was a testament to grace, resilience, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Mabank on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. and all who knew her are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake or First Presbyterian Church, in honor of her love for animals and her steadfast faith.
