Born on December 12, 1948, in Wills Point, Texas, Mike was a son of the late William Gilbert Champion and the Joyce Faye Shamburger Champion.
Mike was a lifelong public servant. He graduated from Sam Houston High School, then proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He did everything from being a Firefighter, Police Officer, Security Guard, DJ at the skating rink, baseball coach, and Mason. He was always serving others and providing for his family.
Along with his mother and wife, Mike is survived by his children Craig Champion, David Champion, Jeff Champion, Tommy Rotenberry, and Toy Blue and her husband, Zac Blue; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother James Champion and his wife, Betty Sue; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place privately at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
