Mrs. Murlene "Murl" Davis

February 21, 1932March 7, 2019

Murlene Davis was born on February 21, 1932 in Levelland, Texas to parents Charlie Jackson and Julia Arlinda (Crabtree) Bullock Sr. and entered into eternal rest on March 7, 2019 at the age of 87. She graduated from Levelland High School and worked as an accountant for Athens ISD. She had been a member of the PTA and a former member of the 49er’s Club. Murlene was “Murl” to her family and friends. Murl was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She enjoyed fishing, watching the Hallmark channel, and reading romance novels. She enjoyed going to the horse races and the “boats” in Shreveport, LA. with her girlfriends. Murl was a great dancer and an even better cook. According to her son, her Thanksgiving dressing was the best! In recent years she was a member of R2 Cowboy Church. Murl was an amazing woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Murl was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Delbert Buchanan, second husband Bill Davis, brother Troy Wayne Bullock, brother William Max Bullock and sister Gayrene Bigham.

She is survived by her son Richard Buchanan and wife Laura of Allen, daughter Cheryl Arlinda Bien of Brownsboro, daughter Karen Morris of Forney, grandson; Christopher Buchanan and wife Kristen of Fate, David Mahoney of Longview, Jared Mahoney and wife Alyssa of Austin, John Mahoney and wife Jana of New Braunfels and Scott Mahoney of Austin, great-grandson; Colton Buchanan of Fate, Liam Buchanan of Fate, Davis Mahoney of New Braunfels and Carter Mahoney of New Braunfels, brother Charlie Jackson Bullock Jr. and wife Katherine of Magnolia, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.

Murl was an awesome lady who was so sweet. And I loved her dearly. She will be missed by all knew her. Never saw her that she didn’t have a beautiful smile on her face.

Memories, too many to list. We were together a lot. We talked on the phone every day. We went to doctors with each other. We went to Church and Bible Study together. Murl was a true friend that was there when I needed her. I will never forget her and plan on seeing her in the future. Another star in Heaven.
