Patricia Ann Cates

Patricia Ann Reeder Cates, of Eustace, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 surrounded by family. Patricia was born on June 7, 1948, the daughter of Willie Owen Reeder and Juanita Evelyn Hickson. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Don Cates, on July 23, 1966, in Forney, Texas.

Patricia was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, known to most as “Mammer,” and a dedicated U.S. rural mail carrier for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Don Cates; parents, Willie Owen Reeder and Juanita Evelyn Hickson; brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Reeder; and grandchildren, Travis Stone Cates and Calley Ann Pitchford.

Patricia is survived by son, Michael Cates and wife Jodie of Eustace; daughter, Shana Pitchford and husband Darrell of Eustace; sisters, Susan Clark and husband Ray of Richland Springs and Sally Richmond and husband Michael of Eustace; grandchildren, Casey Pitchford and wife Brianna, Abbie Cates, Sadie Cates, Cooper Cates, and Gracey Pitchford; and great-grandchildren, Oakley, Everleigh, and Stetson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas. A reception and luncheon will follow the service at Mason Eubank Hall immediately following the service.
